Sloshing Analysis with ANSYS Fluent

For my role, project results, and current technical context, see the full project page.

The project

In the Airbus Nova Horizon workshop team project, I led the sloshing analysis work using multiphase CFD in ANSYS Fluent. We investigated a cylindrical tank with a waist constriction and perforated baffles.

Comparing the configurations

I compared pressure fluctuations against a baseline configuration and coordinated the integration of the resulting load envelopes into the wider vehicle analysis.

The modeled comparison showed a 32.7% reduction in pressure fluctuations relative to the baseline geometry. This result refers to the configurations and conditions simulated in the project.

What I learned

The work gave me experience in multiphase CFD and in connecting a subsystem analysis to a larger engineering project.
